Here at Moxie all our Standard Poodles will be tested(or clear by parentage)and screened for the following:
OFA OR PennHip(Hips),CERF(Eyes),CARDIO(Heart),VWD,THYROID,BRUCELLOSIS,BLOOD PANELS,NE,and DM. SA is being considered but we feel it is a painful test to put our dogs through as well as very unreliable and inaccurate so it is not being done at this time but we certainly would if we saw any reason or indication it was needed.No breed is without its health issues, and that includes Standard Poodles. A reputable breeder with the best interests of the breed at heart will be happy to provide you with information on the health certifications of their dogs, and will provide copies of the sire and dam's health certifications with the purchase of a puppy. Selecting a puppy from a reputable breeder doesn't guarantee you will never have a problem, but it certainly gives you the best advantage.
